Child Protection issues addressed in the submission to Greater Manchester

Child Protection Policy / Procedures & Constitution to be uploaded onto the
website
YG Debrief – to be picked up at next meeting
AG Prepared an action plan for this year. To be discussed later in the agenda
Indoor Hockey – Bramhall, Kingsway & Marple are High Schools which regularly
participate ( Jane Bradley @ Bramhall High School will be able to supply
additional information )
3 Greater Manchester Sports Partnership / Hockey Update

7th Jan – Clubs First Seminar
15 Jan – GM Hockey Dev Group
Report from GMHDG to be put on the website & circulated with minutes.
PM contract expires on 31 March 2007 – English Hockey searching for funding to
renew contract
Club Audits – 75 forms sent out / 11 have responded. Clubs need to be affiliated
and work towards club first to receive support & help from PM.
Boys Academy – only applicable to those clubs who meet the above criteria.
Club / School links proforma being developed & to be circulated in October
Indoor Hockey – about to communicate with the clubs around Indoor Hockey. Trial
Nov – Feb & looking to form a sub group to feed into the Greater Manchester
Hockey SAG
Clubs First – 16 clubs registered, 4 of which have been accredited.
Greater Manchester Web Site now up to date with CPD opportunities
4 Club School Links / School Sport Partnerships
Marple / Saint Annes / Hazel Grove High Schools are looking to develop
activity sessions involving hockey.
Discussion over coach suitability for primary and secondary school children.
GW to decide whether to apply to Awards for All with Vicky Floyd for longer term
hockey development at Marple Hall with view of re-establishing a men’s club in
the area. Action GW
Bramhall Hockey Club / Reddish Ladies offered assistance to Marple Hall High
School to provide exit routes for young people.
Discussion over availability of coaches – does anyone have any spare capacity?

Bramhall Hockey Club looking to develop links with another Primary School
5 Action Plan
2006 / 07 draft action plan circulated – agreed.
Please feed back comments & alterations to AG by Friday 29 September. The action
plan will then be submitted to SSC as a request for grant aid.
6 Children’s Fund Local Network Funded Programme
Advert placed in Stockport Diary
Posters to be produced advertising the programme
Started 2 weeks ago – 4 under 11’s attended the first session
25 Under 13’s attended the second session
AG delivered 8 sessions in 5 primary schools (240 children) promoting the
Werneth oportunities
4 Young Leaders involved in coaching 5-6pm at Werneth.
