Stockport Team Match Report

Reddish entered 3 squads into this seasons seven aside and bought home the trophy.

Despite a hard fought battle, Reddish 2 did not make the finals. They were a man down, but still gave the opposition a run for their money. We saw Julie Gavin back in goal after a year of not trying on the kit. She soon got the hang of it! On the one occasion when she did falter, Benadette was there running round to clear the ball off the back line. Julie didn't however bother to save Susan's ( Reddish 3) wonderful shots on goal from out side the D.

Reddish 3s played the semi final with Heaton 1s and raised their game to give Heaton a run for their money. It was still 0-0 after 10 minutes of golden goal time! Heaton won on penalty flicks:( Well played Kelly Shore, Hannah Meadwell and Alison Madley played out of their socks and defended so well that Heaton had to work for every ball and could not break through.

The final saw Reddish 1 v Heaton 1.  Reddish 1 had had time to gel as a team during the day a present a formidable force. I actually think the ball never got past Gemma in defence and Andrea didn't even to need save a ball in the final. The pressure on the Heaton D was relentless and it was only a matter of time before it went in. We were into golden goal time, when a scuffle in the D saw the Heaton keeper sheilding the ball, she release it only to have Amy Nicklin fire it into the back of the net ending the game with a victory for Reddish.
