Stockport Team Match Report - Reddish v Hadfield

DATE FIXTURE RESULT
09/04/05 Reddish A v Hadfield 4 - 1

It was a very even hard fought match. Both Reddish and Hadfield making some excellent attacking play. Hadfield made plenty of scoring chances which were thwarted by excellent keeping by Andrea Getcheffskey. Andrea deflecting at least two shots onto the post and two more shots just went wide of the goal but Hadfield's persistence paid off and they managed to score one goal to Reddish's 4. The score line did not reflect evenness of the match.

The match opened with Jenny Worth scoring after 10 minutes. The score was one all at half time.

In the second half Reddish attacked from the outset. I don't know what Maggie said to the team at half time but whatever it was we should bottle it at re-use it every time. The first goal came after 5 minutes, then another after 14 and the final goal in last few minutes. Shortly after the last goal Jenny Worth was challenged by Sally Fort an the game finished early.

Lancs Team Match Report - Reddish v Northern 2

DATE FIXTURE RESULT
09/04/05 Reddish A v Northern 2 - 3

The last match of the season was a crucial match as it would decide whether we finished 3rd or 5th in the league. The match started in chaos as a Jenny Worth has been injured in an earlier match, Helen Ashpool arrive late as the captain Helen Elcock led her to believe it was a 4.30 push back and a few others players dropped out last minute. Luckily Julie Gavin an Susan Elcock managed to step into the breach at the last minute. Julie played left half for the first half and with Susan subbed on for a few minutes wearing biking boots and jeans whilst Jenny Worth recovered from some intensive tackling.

It was a hard fought match with Becky Schofield opening the scoring 21 minutes converting a short corner with a cracking shot from top D. Northern soon reclaimed the advantage equalising 1 minute later and the first half finished 1-1. It was Northern that can out fighting in the second half an quarter of an hour in they were 2 goals up. Reddish managed to get one back and nearly managed to equalise when they were awarded a penalty flick, but unfortunately it was not converted and the match finished 3-2 to Northern.

Excellent match, well played everyone.

BTW sorry about the cake Helen, say sorry to the budgie for me.
