Lancs Team Match Report - Reddish v Formby 3

The game started late as the opposition team struggled to find the pitch after a long trek over from Formby. After some help from Julie Plant they all arrived safely.

Initially Formby put Reddish under a lot of pressure and scored an early goal. Reddish soon found there fighting feet and turned the play around. Helen Ashpool playing left half put in some amazing play and never lost the energy to keep dashing in to steal the ball from the opposition. The first Reddish goal came from Biggs goal hanging on the right and was soon followed two more from Leila. The score at half time was 3-1 to Reddish.

After a very short half time break play resumed and Reddish soon scored another. Formby the came back with some very strong attacks which saw Reddish defending hard for much of the second half. After being awarded innumerable dubious short corners, Formby managed to score again and the match finished 4-3 to Reddish.

It was a lovely sunny day, a fast end to end game and so very hard work. We saw some excellent team play with each of the 11 players on the team contributing a great deal.  Needless to say everyone was exhausted at the end of the match.
