Stockport Team Match Report -Heaton v Reddish

In the Junior Flags we got off to a terrible start and Hadfield were two goals ahead within the first 15 minutes. Reddish lacked structure and could not break down Hadfield's formidable defenders. The situation improved as players were subbed on but Hadfield remained in control of the game and Reddish did well to hold them to 2-0 at half time.

In the second half we managed to regroup and assault the Hadfield lines with some force. Reddish player Becky Schofield whacked the ball past the line and made it 2-1. With renewed hope Reddish charged forward only to be intercepted by Hadfield's defence thwarting any further chance of reaching the net. Hadfield kept a tight ship and deserved their 2-1 Junior Flags win.

Lancashire Team Match Report - Reddish v Widnes

No hockey yet again!

Widnes phoned at 7.45 on Friday night to concede the game. It may come as a surprise to Widnes but quite a few people go out on Fridays and given that we were all due to meet up in Warrington at 9.30, that did not give me much scope for letting people know. It had taken Andrea, Julie, Maggie and me all week phoning round to put together two teams so that we could play both matches and it is safe to say that we are not to happy at being let down at the last minute.

We had arranged that Louise Preston did her umpiring assessment with Eunice at the match. Eunice was out but with Chip's help we managed to rearrange the assessment and Louise umpired Hillwood v Prescot.
