Lancs Team Match Report - Reddish v Prescot 2

DATE FIXTURE RESULT
27/11/04 Reddish v Prescot 2 3 - 4

The game opened with Reddish scoring within the first minute of play, as Helen Ashpool hit home. However the Prescott team soon seemed to get into gear and put Reddish under a lot of pressure, with Reddish defending a number of short corners. At half time Prescot were 2-1 up.

The second half initially saw more of the same and Reddish lost focus for a while. Prescot put another two goals away. However, soon after that our star goalie (would be centre forward) Andrea Getcheffsky saved a penalty flick, the teams heads went up and they started to play like they were on fire. The game turned around and the pressure was back on for Prescot. Reddish nearly scored when Becky's shot was deflected from the goal by a defenders foot. A penalty was awarded to Reddish, but Reddish could not convert it. Another penalty flick awarded against Reddish was deflected out of the top corner of the net by Andrea. As we were now 4-1 down, the defence pushed up and a hit in from Helen Elcock was re-bounded by Prescot's defence and hammered home by Becky Yeamans.  Four minutes before the end of play a tussle in the D saw Sam Piggin put a goal away. However despite some determined play, another few scoring chances in final minutes could not be converted and the match ended 4-3 to Prescot.

A very friendly and hard fought match for both teams.

Stockport Team Match Report - Reddish v Forest

DATE FIXTURE RESULT
27/11/04 Reddish v Forest 6 - 0

The first goal came from Becky Schofield for Reddish when she found the net in the first 40 seconds of play.  The previous Reddish v Forest match saw Jenny Clayton hurt by a raised ball, so the match got a little tense as a few raised balls crept in, but the umpires were in control and the play soon calmed down. With another goal from Becky 10 minutes before the end of the half the score was 2-0 to Reddish at the break.

In the second half the pace picked up and despite concerted play from Forest, Reddish kept most of the possession. The ball moved quickly from the back, to midfield and through to the forwards and saw the creation of some excellent scoring chances with Becky Schofield able to put many of them away. Jacqui Phieffer who normally plays forward, proved how flexible a player is playing excellently in a defensive role. The game ended 6-0 to Reddish with Becky Schofield putting away 5 goals and Amber Bryden scoring the last goal in the final minute of play .

Becky Yeaman's excellent midfield play saw her receive man of the match and Amber Bryden was under 16 player of the match.
