Lancs Team Match Report - Reddish v Formby 3
Already struggling for players through illness, the Reddish Lancs team were dealt yet another blow when one of the key midfield players Maggie Fiddler was injured in the early Stockport match. The remaining 11 team members put in a solid performance and nearly managed to hold the game to a draw but in the end the game finished 3-2 to Formby 3, with Formby 3 scoring the winning goal two minutes from the final whistle. Julie Gavin scored a goal which puts her ahead of Laura, her daughter, who was Reddish's top goal scorer last year! Unfortunately shortly after scoring Julie left the pitch with a deep cut across the knuckle of her thumb. Stockport Team Match Report - Reddish v Heaton
The game started badly for Reddish with Heaton making concerted attacks from the off and scoring within the first few minutes of the match. The game pick up towards the end of the second half when Becky Schofield subbed on to join Jenny Worth they made a more assertive attack on goal but alas no-one was able to find the net. The score at half time was 3-0. The second half saw some top form goal keeping from the Reddish Keeper Andrea Getcheffsky. She made several terrific saves to keep the score-line from inching further upwards. Heaton managed to find the net a couple of times in the second half and the game finished 5-0 to Heaton. Unfortunately for Reddish part way through the second half, Maggie Fiddler left the pitch injured. After a visit to hospital it turns out she has pulled the ligaments in her left leg and has been told to rest for a few weeks. SummaryReddish have been dealt a real blow this week. With both Maggie Fiddler the Stockport team captain and Julie Gavin out of commission for a few weeks due to injury. We really need all the team members to rally round and help us through this difficult patch. And a big thanks to all those players who have volunteered to play two matches on Saturday. Your help is very much appreciated. |
