Lancashire Team Match Report - Formby 4 v Reddish

DATE FIXTURE RESULT
25/09/04 Formby 4 v Reddish A 0 - 11

The Lancs season started well for Reddish A playing Formby 4 with Reddish with a 9 man team. The young Formby side played very well but could not hold back the onslaught from more experienced Reddish side. Scoring opened when Alex Wilkinson reversed flicked the ball high into the left corner after the Formby goal keeper had denied the team 3 shots on the ground. Becky Schofield playing centre forward was top goal scorer scoring 6 of the 11 goals. Jenny Plant playing left wing chipped two goals in high, from the left post. Charlotte Taylor who provided a solid midfield cover scored from a rebound and Becky Yeamans who created many chances by driving the ball deep up the right wing and returning it to top D, scored as well!

The defence was as solid as ever with Helen Higgs as sweeper and Julie Plant, Helen Elcock playing back.

Sarah the goal keeper did not see much action, which is probably a good job as she had been out on a works outing the night before

Stockport Team Match Report - Heaton v Reddish

DATE FIXTURE RESULT
25/09/04 Heaton v Reddish B 8  - 0

Heaton were on form this week when they took on Reddish's youngsters and secured a 8-0 win. Jenny Foster began Heaton's score-sheet with a goal from a corner. There was no stopping Heaton who went on a roll to make it 4-0 by half time. Sam Barton caught a cross from Jenny to make it two. A further ball was tapped over the line by Sam Wilson and Bev Kinder took the fourth with a power driven hit to the net from just inside the circle. A terrific solo run from the half way line secured Foster her hat trick. Reddish never gave up and tried to get back in the game. Good connecting play between Jenny Worth and Amber Bryden gave them a chance to score. Unfortunately Jenny's strike was just wide of the post and they remained goalless. They defended well despite the onslaught and it was defender Maggie Fiddler who won player of the match. Reddish were outplayed and Heaton deserved to win. There were debuts made from both sides, by young Alex Peace (12) who found the net for Heaton and Natallie Sutherland (13) from Reddish.
