REDDISH MAKE GOOD

The game started in a downpour and with Moss two players down for the first few minutes. Reddish made the most of this and scored two goals in the first five minutes as Cookie (Lucy Cook) scored off a short corner and Amber Bryden put the ball away from open play.

Reddish then held their lead to half time despite some heavy pressure from Moss Park but failed to pull further ahead with many scoring chances being denied by Jenny Maroulis in goal for Moss Park. One memorable shot from Dunner's  (Rachel Dunley) who having beaten the Moss defence was put in a raised shot at goal only to have it deflected high and safely off the backline by an awesome save from Jenny.

The second half saw Moss regroup and turn on the pressure and stretch the Reddish Defence. Sarah Wantling, Reddish Keeper was on form as usual diving to save balls and closing down play. Reddish stayed on the offensive and the game became fast end to end stuff with Jenny Worth and Cookie taking it to them. It was any ones game. About half way through the second half Moss managed to score as Amanda Irwin found the net. The pressure continued and Moss had another scoring opportunity in the closing minutes, when a Moss Player on the right post having beaten the defence and the keeper failed to score and the ball went wide. 

The match ended a win to Reddish, moving them in the right direction needing only one more point to avoid relegation.
