BRAMHALL HIGH SCHOOL SQUASH CLUB

What's happened to Bramhall Squash Courts?

Proposed Squash Court Closure

Initially plans were put forward to close the squash courts at Bramhall School, but there was strong community feeling against this, so thanks to the help of Erin O'Brian from Stockport Sports Trust, John Peck Bramhall High's headmaster, the Bramhall High School board of Governors and John Gibson from England Squash an alternative plan was put in place.

Squash Courts Saved

The squash courts at Bramhall have been closed for 3 months. They have been converted into a dual purpose facility (dance drama studio / squash courts) , that enables the school to use the space for their purposes and the public to use the space for singles or doubles squash.

The courts are competition standard with glass back walls, moveable dividing wall and a  viewing gallery. This high standard facility should enable us to run coaching sessions and competitions for all age groups, and we are especially keen to encourage and develop junior players.

Many thanks are due to the Bramhall School Board of governors along with Stockport Sports Trust and England Squash who listened to the communities concerns and responded with this excellent and imaginative solution to a difficult problem.
